Why does my brown hair dye fade to blondey-orange?

I was naturally a dark brown and then had my hair bleach highlighted and was pretty much all blonde. Was blonde for about 2 months and then went back to brown (my natural-ish colour).

I was then told to dye a red into it to replace the pigment lost through blonding, and then dye it again brown. But now like 6 months on my brown hair dye fades and seems orangey!! I think its the blonde coming through but I'm not sure.

How can I stop the orange-ness?!

yes this will happen it is the bleach coming through not musc to stop it but if it was me instead of dying it with perm colour i would keep using a semi colour they wash out faster but they dont damage your hair and they make the hair look healthier and cheaper to buy,you can use them reg about every 4 weeks if need be but best to do it around 6-8 weeks i also would say dye it a rich brown with a little red in it just to keep the blonde at bay a bit longer.

use an ash blonde to tone it.

hair that has been bleached will do this until it grows out. no matter how many base colours you use. my own hair is the same.
