Pregnancy and hair dye?

My sister is wanting me to dye her hair and highlight it but I'm 21 wks pregnant. Will that have any affect on the baby?

Pregnancy and hair dye?

I was told by my doctor that hair dye is safe after the first trimester. So, you should be safe. If you are concerned, call your OB to make sure before you do it.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

No effect. Do it in a well ventilated room and use gloves. Baby will be fine.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

I was told never get around hair dye.I would not risk it ,shes your sister, shell understand.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

yes surely it will affect baby s health

Pregnancy and hair dye?

i just dyed my hair but i did mine out side.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

I've recently read in the "What to Expect When Expecting" book that it is safe. Studies have shown that no harm will be caused.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

Yes- if the hairdye contains ammonia, and you don't wear gloves. ( I am still wary about fumes from the ammonia, however) There are plenty of ammonia free hairdyes out there, however, so if you use one of those you should be fine.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

Absolutely not! Just wear gloves and don't eat it. You and baby are perfectly fine.

I get my hair colored every six weeks and didn't stop just because I was pregnant. My hairdresser was pregnant and worked up until her baby was born and colored and highlighted people's hair all day long.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

Highlighting is different than coloring, because you are using a bleach. I would definitley ask your doctor first.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

IT WILL AFFECT THE BABIES HAIR BECAUSE MY MOM DIED HER HAIR WHEN I WAS IN HER STOMACH. AND LUCKILY FOR ME MY HAIR CAME OUT DARK BROWN WITH NATURE GOLDEN BROWN HIGHLIGHTS,

health problems? i came out fine

sorry for the caps i didnt feel like typing this all over again

Pregnancy and hair dye?

I was told; they say not to do it because in some people the dye combo with the hormones in your body could have a different color out come than expected.

But I colored my hair with baby 1 %26amp; 2 and no problems and still do with baby 3. Highlights/lowlights and all over color.

I just have it done where I can get lots of fresh air.

Good Luck!

Pregnancy and hair dye?

According to most docs, this question has not been proven safe or harmful to baby. My doc said to me once " You know why pregnant women should not dye their hair?" I said no. He said, "Because they change their mind and get emotional bout it later." He was joking - it amade me laugh because when I am not pregnant I change mine monhly just about. I did read that it is better to go darker with hair color during pregnancy because it has less harsh chemicals, wheras if you highlight you are using bleach - which is pretty harsh and has strong fumes.

Pregnancy and hair dye?

dont let the dye near her scalp....it not really wise to do it at alll
