Dyeing my hair uniquely, but not too drastically?

I am a teen girl, and i have layered brown hair that comes to just a little bit below my shoulder. my hair is highlighted with a dark-ish red color, and i think that red tones compliment me well. i love my hair but i am considering a small change. i have two options i am considering for my hair: 1) dye the entire bottom layer black or 2) dyeing a small-ish piece of the under layer a dark pink, or maybe purple. i have a fairly preppy style, with just a hint edginess. (if that makes sense?) so out of my 2 options, do you think they are a good idea? and if so which one should i do? i have a square-ish face shape, and large green eyes that i want to stand out.

OKay, Girl, definitely the pink! Get PINK layers! A girl in my class did it, for weeks she got completmented that her hair was gorge, and do you know what happened then? A load of people started dying it the same! She has started a trend at my school!!! You can too! And take credit for it! WOW i only wish i had the confidence you have! Personally I am soo tired of people dying the bottom half of their hair, especially black. Weird colours like, blues, and pinks really annoy me as well. I think you should just leave your hair looking natural. it is way more sophisticated and as a teen thats what you want rite??

i like (2). it sounds completely unique...but not something that is so drastic that it will make people think you have something growing on your head :-)

I would do black. Pink is just a little to much.

Well I like the black or very dark purple, i am not a fan of pink hair its too dramatic. Ofcourse I am not a teenager anymore so I don't care for all those weird styles, but if it looks good on you then I say go for it. You have to like it not us old people.

I LOVE PURPLE! seriously. if i could, i would get purple highlights. but my mom would freak so its out of the question lol. i think you should dye your hair jet black and add purple highlights, like peeking out from underneath. layers would look good overall.

i like #2 cuz it is more unique and i like unique.i have black hair with blue highlights on one side and purple on the other side.so #2 is my vote.

The thing with being unique is that after a while, people start copying you and then there's a group of people walking around with the same hair color as you.

I think you should go with white blonde hair pink highlights . my sister always has different colors in her hair right now its green and blue. most of the time its blonde and pink or black and pink.

Doing just the bottom will look stupid.
