Self-highlights?

has anyone highlighted their hair by a box? like, my mom said that you could highlight your hair at home, like, buy a box...if anyone has done that before....can you tell me if it worked well? did it turn out good? and do you think that if i had light brown hair i could highlight it with goldish highlights

yeah, you can. i've done it like 4 times and dyed my hair from a box.. it works yeah, but next time im getting it done. if you do do it have some one who has done it before and knows what they are doing do it for you. little hint, the cream that they give you to wash your hair with a few times after words ( or what ever the directions say) use it!! haha i didnt and my hair felt like straw after. but as long as you follow everything right it should turn out good! dont make them to thick, or to many. once it like died my hair when it was only highlights.

yeah, i have black hair and i added red highlights. it works quite well..just don't buy the cheap cheap stuff ... aka bargain shopp

I am not so sure about the box, but I think that the brwn and gold-like highlights would look great!!

A friend of mine highlighted her hair red and it came out really nice. I think she used the highlight kit from LOreal.

yea they work. just follow the directions that way you don't mess up. its also a lot cheaper

It is very hard to turn brown hair blonder.

I tried one of those highlighting kits because i didnt want to spend the money to have my roots professionally done. i did such a bad job that i had to have it corrected.

Save yourself a lot of grief, get it done professionally! Almost all home highlighting jobs look like at home jobs.

i did the box stuff once. i kinda like it but it doesn't last long. i would suggest getting it done by a stylist it cos around $160. and it last long. and yes like brown with golden highlights is very cute!

Don't use the box, either go to the salon and have it done, or use peroxide to highlight it........ just put it on your hair and lay out in the sun for a bit

duh,it exists! just kidding! well,here's a website,it teaches you how to dye your hair.Whatever you do,don't buy those permanent and demi-permanent products,their really bad because they contain lots of ammonia and peroxide! Just saying it could damage your hair...

here's a website for non-permanent box and highlights...well,you should try loreal's color pulse mousse for that .I never dyed my hair,but my grandma does it,so i see her dyeing her hair and i learned permanent hair dyes damage the hair because of the chemicals they contain.

i like it because it's non-permanent...you should never go to a salon,they mess up your hair,so if your mom has dyed her hair,then she can help you...
