Dying my hair black.?

I have blond hair and I just highlighted my hair a week ago. I have a costume party coming up and I want to Dye my hair black but only temporary. Is there a kind of dye that washes out after a couple days? WHat brand do you suggest. Also will my highlights be permantly affected by the black dye or will they mess it up?

you cannot do it, it will destroy your hair. Basically the lighter your hair is the less pigment (color) you have. Bleached hair (highlights are bleach) have no color in the shaft. If you put black in...a dark color (LOTS of pigment) like that, it will fill the shaft. Temporary or not, it will NOT all come out and you will be left with some strange in between color. Get a wig!

Okay, if you use the ones that washes off when you take a shower, that would be thee best. i don't recommend any hair dye, because i don't die my hair.

1st it will affect your hightlight for a long will and there is something to dye your hair with and it will last two weeks. its from loreal company but im not that sure what it is called.

dying your hair black with any type of dye could leave it stained darker, and sometimes a completely different color depending on the base color of the dye (red base, your hair is stained red) even the temporary sprays are risky because your hair is blond, you are running a risk.

If i were in your position, I wouldn't risk the money I spent on those hilites, your safest bet would be to get a wig and wig cap.

loreal color pulse mousse works really well, I have light blonde hair and the dark brown I used washed out in 4 shampoos! Becareful to follow the box's directions exactly for good results

Yeah, I would get a wig, because any type of rinse/temp color will mess up your highlights and usually take a couple of washes to come out. And the temp sprays are nasty, if your hair touches anything, it will turn that color.

okay, my mom is a hairdresser and i have had my hair ups and downs. you'd be better off spraying it on because if it's only temporary than the temporary hair dye stays for weeks. especially with blonde hair. if you dye it, it will never be the original color. your hair will probably go back more orange than blonde, and if you don't want that, then you just have to dye it back blonde but don't forget to tint it. if you don't it'll be orange. and wait for a while between these because dying your hair too much causes it to ruin or look rotten. you'll know what i mean.highlights are pretty temporary anyways so you can always get them again. um, i don't know what brand i use but i get it from sally's beauty supply and it's always in a bluey/black box.

and yea if its peroxide or amonia highlights the semi permanent will stick so its best to use conditioner and olive oil before so the hair isnt so porous and the semi permanent wont stay so much

so remember if hair is bleached or highlighted it is more porous and the semi-permanent will act permanent so mosturize!!!!!!!!!!

why waste your money on highlights when you want to dye your hair black? just wear a wig but if you want to look your best go to CVS and ask someone there for a temporary hair dye
