Am I paranoid? I'm not going to do it anymore till delivery...

Any experiences on hair color (highlighting)?

The reason you hear you shouldn't color hair when pregnant is really more because your hair reacts differently to the chemicals in the dye when pregnant and you may not get what you are hoping for.

You may also be concerned about inhaling the fumes, which is the same whether highlighting or using all over color. But what's done is done and you sound like you are fine and your hair isn't green, I don't think. So don't sweat it.

colored my hair lots both pregnancies. As long as your in a well ventilated room when u do it, its all good. They only say nottoo cause the fumes are bad for the baby (i did it in my yard)

There has never been a documented case of problems due to haircoloring. To be on the safe side, the recommendation is to wait until your 2nd trimester. Seeing as how you did this, I would not worry. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have full out dyed my hair twice. I noticed I was bothered more by the smell -- so I had to make sure to dye my hair in a very large, very well ventilated room.

your not supposed to do any type of coloring on your hair.

the problem is with the fumes, but my dr said it was ok and my baby came out fine!

if you had your hair highlighted with the cap or foil you 100% fine as the colour does not even touch your scalp just the hair.

if you have all over colours that do go on scalp then that is usually fine theres no proof color on the scalp harms the baby its mainly only a concern for you as when your pregnant your skin becomes more sensitive so at worst you may experience a sore or itchy scalp after and this is very rare in its self so don't worry having your hair coloured is fine. also due to your hormones some woman fine their colour does not take as well as it normally does but these are the main things that can happen the baby should be fine.

the only thing i would not recommend on the scalp when pregnant is bleach as this is a much stronger chemical but bleach with highlights is fine and normal colours are fine on scalp and with highlights.

my doctor told me that it wasn't good to dye your hair when you're pregnant. I'm 21 weeks a long so far and I think I'll wait until after the baby is born. Besides, it's only a few months to wait anyways. I'd rather wait instead of running the risk of harming the baby.

Hi:) The only real problem you may have is that your skin might be more sensitive.Highlights don't usually sit on the scalp so they are not likely to be as irritating as full color.I do mine all the time and have never had any problems.Make sure you stay in a well ventilated area in case you are sensitive to odors.If you've already done them and had no irritation I'd say you should be ok.HTH's:)

well you shouldent put colour in your hair when pregnant because the colour runs into your blood stream and where is your baby getting its blood from you

but dont worry im sure youll be fine and your baby just dont do it again untill your baby is born good luck and enjoy your beautfull experience

kept the dye in my hair all throught pregnancy three times round....always have hair dyed when pregnant but was not the same as hair is soooo different when carrying. also after all my babies my hair fell out but this not due to dyeing this is due to great hormone changes....its personal choice and a bloody gud hairdresser hunny..xx
