How long does it take to bleach your already blonde hair?

I already have blonde-highlighted hair on top of a darker shade of blonde that got done about a month and a half ago. And i plan on bleaching my hair to make it a lighter blonde so how long would it take?

i don't want a platinum blonde, but almost close to that.

Well since you already have blonde hair, I wouldn't keep it in longer than 10-12minutes. It will turn it white, and it will dry it out tremendously. After you put it on, check it every couple of minutes. Depending on the strength of the bleach you get, it could take 5minutes or 15minutes. Just keep checking it after you put it in and rinse it out when it hits the shade you'd like. Good luck.

you should just dye it a lighter blonde; dont bleach it. a friend of mine was bleeching her hair and it lal like basically melted and fell out; and she had to completely shave her head now it is really short and she hates it.

I am platinum myself and if I could have to do all over again I would have never done all over enlightening! My hair started breaking off and it so porous that no amount of moisture will stay in my hair.

As a hairstylist I would tell you to stick with foil highlights and the length of time depends on how porous you hair is, the texture of your hair, how light you want it, the enlightening product used, etc.
